179D-Tax-Credit-DeductionWe are continuing our special webinar series – Are You Controlling Your Tax Liability? – with a webinar entitled “179D: The Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deduction” on September 12. As we are partnering with alliantgroup for this series, this webinar is being presented by Linda McCluskey, Director of Energy Credits & Incentives with alliantgroup.

The U.S. Congress established 179D as a part of the Energy Policy Act (“EPAct”) of 2005 to incentivize building owners to reduce energy of commercial buildings as a part of EPAct’s overall purpose of reducing America’s energy consumption.

In this webinar, architects, engineers, contractors or energy service companies will learn how 179D not only helps the design and construction industry meet  2030 carbon neutrality goals, but allows the immediate and direct benefits of  the deductions for qualified buildings owned by federal, state, or local  governments. Additionally, attendees will learn about the qualifying components  of the 179D energy efficient building deduction, particularly as it relates to  the construction or renovation of government-owned buildings. Attendees will  gain knowledge of recent changes enacted by the IRS to the 179D deduction that  impact how architects, engineers, contractors or energy service companies can  claim the deduction for interior lighting, HVAC and hot water systems, and  building envelope systems. This information will give architects, engineers,  contractors or energy service companies an opportunity to obtain cash refunds,  tax credits and deductions readily available to them.

This free, hour-long webinar will take place on Thursday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m. EST. This program is a live webinar which offers you the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters. There is no quiz and no exam. This webinar qualifies as live CPE and is not considered self-study. No prerequisites are necessary for this webinar and the program level is basic / introductory.
