McKonly & Asbury LLP names Blain and Springer Principals, promotes others.

Fresh off to another strong year of growth and development, McKonly & Asbury announces one of the largest classes of promotions in the firm's history. David B. Blain, CPA, CVA/ABV, and Chrissy Springer, CPA, CIA have been promoted to Principal. Three members of the FOS – Financial Outsourcing Solutions team have also been promoted. Nine other team members were also promoted. Following are profiles of each of them, beginning with our newest Principals.

David B. Blain, CPA/ABV, CVA is promoted to Principal with McKonly and Asbury, LLP. David's primary responsibilities are as a relationship manager for a number of our key clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, insurance, and non-profits. David has a diverse background having spent five years in private industry as the Director of Finance of a national insurance broker, as well as five years with an international public accounting firm.

David brings extensive knowledge in a wide variety of services. From accounting and auditing, to strategic planning and internal controls, to transaction advisory and business valuations, David has served his clients in a number of capacities. David is the segment leader of the firm's Construction and Insurance practices and continues to provide services to some of the firm's largest manufacturing clients. In addition to being a CPA, David is also Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Active in his community, David is a Supervisor in Lower Paxton Township, Vice Chairman of the Township's Sewer Authority, and a board director with the Capital Tax Collection Bureau. David also serves on the Penn State Harrisburg Business Advisory Board. Additionally, he is a member of the Colonial Park Rotary Club.

David is a Pennsylvania State University graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Christina M. Springer, CPA, CIA, promoted to Principal, joined McKonly & Asbury in 2002, having most recently served as an accountant with one of the area's largest human service and long-term care providers.
Ms. Springer is a certified public accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). She specializes in providing consulting services to clients in a variety of industries including insurance and long-term care.

Ms. Springer possesses experience in accounting outsourcing and co-sourcing and SOX 404 Compliance, primarily with general internal controls.

Ms. Springer is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

James P. Shellenberger, CPA, promoted to Manager, joined the firm in 2002 as a staff accountant. He serves clients in a variety of industries, with concentrations in middle-market external auditing, internal audit consulting, and affordable housing.

He has led both external and internal audit engagements for our clients throughout the United States. Well versed in technical accounting and auditing literature, Mr. Shellenberger is a member of the firm's Audit and Accounting committee. Mr. Shellenberger is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of both the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

He also recently received Accreditation in Internal Quality Assessment Validation from the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Active in the community, Mr. Shellenberger is past president of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He is also involved with several nonprofit organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Mechanicsburg Public Library, and as Treasurer of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Humane Society.

Mr. Shellenberger is a member of the Harrisburg Young Professionals and is an active member of his church. Mr. Shellenberger is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree majoring in Accounting.

Josh A. Bantz, promoted to Supervisor, joined the firm in 2006 as a Senior Accountant, working primarily in the Audit and Consulting areas. He most recently worked at an international firm, where he primarily focused on Internal Audit and Consulting. Prior to that, he worked at McGladrey & Pullen LLP, where he primarily focused on Not-For-Profit and Real Estate Auditing.

Mr. Bantz is a graduate of Juniata College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is currently working towards his CPA certification.

Aaron R. Boor, promoted to Supervisor, joined McKonly & Asbury in 2004 as a Staff Accountant and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2006. In his tenure with McKonly & Asbury, Mr. Boor has focused on service in the Nonprofit and Consulting areas of the firm. Most recently, he has conducted field work for Sarbanes-Oxley Act Compliance and Information Systems Auditing with several of the firm's largest clients. Currently he is leading the firm's Data Extraction initiative as well as other IT functions in the Audit Segment.

Mr. Boor is a Messiah College graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Danielle J. Guinter,MAcc promoted to Supervisor, joined McKonly & Asbury as a Staff Accountant in 2005. She focuses on providing clients services as part of our audit team. Ms. Guinter most recently worked for Merrill Lynch at their corporate headquarters, where she obtained her Series 7 and Series 63 NASD Licenses. She served in several positions including Central Asset Client Service Representative, 529 and Retirement Plan Product Specialist, and Multi-Product Specialist.

Ms. Guinter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from James Madison University and a Masters of Accountancy from Rider University.

Danielle L. Hulock, CPA, promoted to Supervisor, joined the firm as a Staff Accountant in 2004 and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2006. She provides audit and consulting services, with an emphasis on documentation related to Sarbanes-Oxley Act Compliance and Testing, as well as accounting outsourcing. She has gained her license as a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Hulock is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and serves as the Secretary for the Central Penn Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Ms. Hulock is a Messiah College graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.


Kristine C. Leber, CPP, promoted to Supervisor, joined McKonly & Asbury in 2005 as a Staff Accountant. She was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2006.

She brings a wealth of private accounting experience, having most recently served for nine years in various corporate accounting capacities for a large national corporation. She serves clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, and healthcare, focusing mainly on consulting and corporate accounting. She is also a Certified Payroll Professional.

An active member of the community, Ms. Leber is an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for Local Troop 902, a Volunteer for Calvary United Methodist Church, past Vice President of the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the American Payroll Association and School Board Director for Central Dauphin School District.

Ms. Leber is a Cum Laude graduate of Elizabethtown College.

Carrie A. Pederson, CPA, promoted to Supervisor, joined McKonly & Asbury in 2004 as a Staff Accountant. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
Ms. Pedersen has focused on service in the Audit and Consulting areas of the firm. Most recently, she has led many of the firm's Benefit Plan Audit engagements and has conducted field work for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance with several of the firm's largest clients, performing tests at locations across North America.

Ms. Pedersen is a Messiah College graduate, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Brian C. Cline, promoted to Senior Accountant, joined the firm as a Staff Accountant in 2006. He works in the audit and consulting segments. His previous experience was in private industry with PMSLIC Insurance Company.

He is a graduate of Penn State Harrisburg with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Accountancy.

Monica F. Oakman, CPA, promoted to Senior Accountant, is a CPA and joined the firm in 2004, having most recently worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the Division of Guardianship Programs. She concentrates on service to our Consulting, Nonprofit, Real Estate and Affordable Housing clients.

Ms. Oakman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University.


Lauren R. Kohr, promoted to Supervisor with FOS, joined our Banking Internal Audit affiliate in 2005 as a Staff Consultant with FOS and specializes in providing internal audit services to our financial institution clients.

Lauren is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is actively pursuing her Certified Internal Auditor designation.

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Law from Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona.

John R. Huyette is promoted to Senior Consultant with FOS and specializes in providing IT audit services to our financial institution clients. John joined FOS as a Staff Consultant in 2006 after working in private industry.

He is a member of the Information Systems and Control Association and is actively pursuing his Certified Information Systems designation. John is an avid hockey fan and devotes time to coaching youth hockey.

John received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting Information Systems from the University of Scranton.

Lyle L. Loeb is promoted to Senior Consultant with FOS and specializes in providing internal audit services to our financial institution clients.

Prior to joining the firm, he spent several years with Dopaco, Inc. as a Staff Accountant.

Lyle received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Management from Alvernia College.
